legolas lwp. Legolas was an Elf who was part of lord of the ring the Fellowship of the Ring in the Third Age. He is the son of the Elf-king Thranduil of Mirkwood, a Prince of the Woodland Realm (Mirkwood), a messenger, and a master bowman. With his keen eyesight, sensitive hearing, and excellent bowmanship, Legolas is a valuable resource to the other eight of the Fellowship. His age was never stated by Tolkien. Legolas is well-known for becoming friends with the dwarf Gimli, despite their long held differences.

lord of the rings legolas. It is not known whether Legolas was Thranduil’s only son, or whether he was heir to his father’s crown. Legolas came to the Council of Elrond in Rivendell, the great meeting held by the Elf lord Elrond, as a messenger from his father to discuss the escape of Gollum. When the council was choosing the “Nine Walkers” to pit against the “Nine Riders,” Legolas volunteered to represent the elves, and become one of the members of the Fellowship that set out to destroy the One Ring. we also have lord of the ring hobbit image ready as lwp for you.
Legolas was an unusual choice perhaps, considering the other options Glorfindel, Elladan and Elrohir, Gildor, to name a few. But Legolas had been fighting the darkness in Mirkwood for centuries. He grew up under the Shadow of Dol Guldur. None of the other Elven realms were under a situation of sustained, constant warfare. Perhaps that was due to the Elven Rings and their bearers, but you can’t ignore the fact that the Woodland Realm had been fighting continuously for many years. He was a skilled archer, tracker. He had experience fighting the great spiders of Mirkwood. He must have had great experience with stealth tracking and guerrilla tactics against the denizens of Dol Guldur.
And most key point of all? He hadn’t let it get him down. He loved his forest. He loved Middle Earth. He may have been fighting the “long defeat” as Galadriel called it but he did not let it make him lose hope. He had a cheerful disposition and bright outlook. How could that not be a benefit to the fellowship, especially when it was a badass warrior with that attitude. He also was someone in whom Aragorn could confide, in addition to Gandalf. The influence of Aragorn’s Elvish upbringing was vast. So vast that he likely had more in common with Legolas than Boromir. Great as Aragorn is, I also can’t help but think that if Glorfindel or his foster brothers were among the Fellowship he might find himself deferring to them, consciously or unconsciously. I also believe the Ring would have called to them more than it called to Legolas. That would have also been a risk.
